The act of bidding is your acceptance of all terms.

All knives sold as collectibles, curios, or antiques

     The following as amended by any posted notices or verbal announcements during the sale constitutes the entire terms and conditions on which property listed in the catalog shall be offered for sale or sold by J. Bruce Voyles, Auctioneers, Inc. and any consignor of such property for whom we act as agent.

As used herein, the term “bid price” means the price at which a lot is knocked down to the purchaser, and the term “purchase price” means the aggregate of (a) the bid price (b) A premium payable by the purchase of 10% of the bid price ( thus a 10% buyers premium)  and (c) Tennessee or Texas sale tax unless a resale tax certificate is on file with J. Bruce Voyles, Auctioneers, Inc.

Upon the fall of the auctioneers hammer or the announcement of a lot as “sold” the highest bidders shall be deemed to have purchased the offered lot in accordance with all of the conditions and at that moment assumes full risk and responsibility, will sign a confirmation of purchase, and agrees to pay the purchase price for the lots. No lot may be transferred.

J. Bruce Voyles, Auctioneers, Inc reserves the right to withdraw any property at any time before the actual sale, and reserves the right to reject a bid from any bidder.  The highest bidder as named by the auctioneers shall be the purchaser.  The auctioneers shall have the sole and final discretion to either determine the successful bidder or re-offer and resell the item in dispute.

All statements in the catalog or on any other literature as to the authorship, age, origin, measurements, quality, scarcity, provenance, importance, condition, and historical relevance are qualified statements of opinion and not a representation or warranty.  All sales are final, all times are sold as is, where is, with no warranties expressed or implied.

Terms are cash, credit card, cashiers check or certified check, or personal or company check with prior approval and/or bank letter of guaranty.  Buyers premium is 10%.  If we don't know you we will wait for personal checks to clear before we ship. 

The act of bidding, in person, by agent, over the telephone, the internet, or via mail, fax, or email, or any other method the buyer or bidder aggress to be bound bythese conditions of sale and further aggresses that the respective rights, obligations, and any dispute will be governed by the laws of Tennessee.

At our discretion we may accept bids in advance of sale by telephone, or in writing. “Buy” bids will not be accepted, all bids must state the highest price the bidder is willing to pay, and a premium will be added to the bid price.  The earlier bid will take precedent on tie bids. Absentee bids shall be executed in competition with other absentee bids and bids from the audience.  Successful absentee bids are not acknowledged but sale results and selling prices for any lot may be obtained by request. J. Bruce Voyles, Auctioneers, Inc. assumes no responsibility for failure to execute these bids for any reason whatsoever.

UP TO bids may be left, and will be executed as if you are in the room.  We will not raise an up to bid except in the face of an opposing bid. 

Auction shall end at midnight on the date specified, except for active bidders who may raise bids until we go to a 5 minutes interval without a raised bid.  At that time the auction is officially over. 

We spend the following day double checking the written bids and transcripts  to be sure all bids were posted.  The highest bid will win the item. 

Consignors may NOT bid on their own items.

All property is sold “as is” with no warranties expressed or implied.  J. Bruce Voyles, Auctioneers, inc. or the consignors makes no representation or warranty, expressed or implied as to the title, merchantability, fitness or condition of the property or as to the correctness of description, attribution, provenance, or age.

A buyers premium of 10% is added to all lots.

No cut bids will be accepted and the acceptable bids are in the following increments 

$5.00-50.00 $5.00 increments

$50.00-$200.00 $10.00 increments

$200.00-$500.00 $25.00 increments

$500.00-$1000.00 $50.00 increments

$1000.00-$2000.00 $100.00 increments

$2000.00-$5000.00 $250.00 increments

$5000-$10,000.00 $500.00 increments

$10,000-$20,000.00 $1,000.00 increment

$20,000-$50,000.00 $2,500.00 increments

$50,000-$100,000.00 $5,000.00 increments
